Snotty Nose Rez Kids x Skinny Local presents a brand new single called Screaming Indian

Written by Moksh Dhawan

Bringing home all the hard-hitting factors we hip hop fans know and love with beautiful, crispy production, the song is a pleasure to listen to. It’s the balls to the walls commentary on the culturally intolerant state of the world right now. The rage of the communities is surely well represented in “Screaming Indian”.

The song originated from a jam session in the Snakes X Ladders studio in 2018 between SNRK and Tarun Nayar. In 2020, producer Skinny Local found this diamond in the rough and revitalized it, taking the production to previously unimaginable levels. Bringing in elements of their own trap background, Skinny Local made this an aggressive heavy masterpiece. Rerecording it with SNRK, they saw it as a perfect fit for the album TRAPLINE, about building bridges to other marginalized communities. ‘Screaming Indian’ does just that; it’s a joyous and rowdy celebration of solidarity that feels timelier with each passing day. This is surely a welcome addition to the new age of Indian hip-hop, making Snotty Nose Rez Kids, Skinny Local, and Tarun Nayar all forces to be reckoned with.

Personal Score: 4/5
